Future’s Past

Light painted images of old western items found in the back lot of Pioneer Village in Bakersfield, CA.

“Future’s past”
I discovered this setting in the back lot at Pioneer Village In Bakersfield California on Halloween 2014. All I had with me to light the subject was my cell phone. Propped my Nikon D800 on top of a small Tamrac camera bag to act as a tripod support for the 30 second exposure. As I was in the process of running around light painting this image, as a low flying aircraft streaked through sky. At first I was so bummed out that the image had been ruined. After “Chimping” the preview screen, I realized this random event adding the perfect compositional element to the picture. “Sometimes you just get lucky!”
“Future’s Past II”
I discovered this setting in the back lot at Pioneer Village in Bakersfield, Ca.on Halloween 2014. All I had with me to light the subject was my cell phone. So I propped my Nikon D800 on top of a small Tamrac camera bag to act as a tripod support for the 30 second exposure. During the open shutter I  ran around light painting the set using the LED light from my cell phone.
Future’s Past III
Another in my series of images taken in the back lot at Pioneer Village in Bakersfield, Ca. on Halloween 2014. I propped my Nikon D800 on top of a small Tamrac camera bag to act as a tripod support for the 30 second exposure. During the open shutter I ran around light painting the set using the LED light from my cell phone. This was the only source of illumination used to create the image.
